Inquiring minds would like to know what sets us apart as a river rafting company on the Futaleufu.
We are amongst the first to launch rafts on this magical river and after 30 + years we are definitely the most diverse. We are only the only company that is staffed by both male and female guides, multi-cultural and multi-racial. We are a team of humans and it does not matter where you come from but it does mean the world to us what you bring to the table. This is where the intangibles and metaphysics take us to a feeling you get by living fully while you are part of the Bio Bio family on the Futaleufu. Bio Bio Patagonia’s excursion guides and staff are each unique and multi-talented superstars. The way they make you feel welcome and immediately as part of the family does not show up in pictures and is indeed difficult to put into words. I believe you have to feel it to actually then know it by coming to the Fu to find out for yourself. Meet one of our Futalefufu river rafting guides and you will immediately see what I am talking about. The draw of our outdoor getaway in Patagonia is to allow one to become disconnected from technology in order to allow one to feel reconnected to humanity. No electronics or links to the outside world digitally. Just good, solid humans to hang with and remind you that dinner conversations can last hours and star gazing can last all night when you feel energized and excited by life. It is this feeling that you can’t touch, smell, taste or take a picture off that is the beauty which sets us apart from our competition. Everybody has rafts, everybody has busses, everybody will feed you but how the company you paddle with makes you feel is the truly lasting measure of quality and of your experience. We measure our success by this intangible and it is what keeps each and everyone that works at Bio Bio Patagonia’s excursion company coming back year after year! Look at the length of time our senior guides and staff have worked with us. From the OG’s like Stan and Alex it 20 + years, then there is young old guides like Diego, Santi and Terry who have rocked the team 15+ years, then there are “New Guides” like Derick, Mirko and Shana who have been with us 10+ years and so on. What keeps everybody coming back? Guests and guides alike have many places on the globe to explore and visit, yet the pull to come back into the fold at the Futaleufu and merge for a spell with the bio bio family becomes irresistible. I blame and thank the happy feeling it is you get while being at the Fu and part of the family. Good food, delicious beer and wine, dark roasted espresso beans to fuel your Latte, the endless laps of whitewater runs on the river, the laughter, singing and music that echo in camp, the super oxygenated air and the pristine forrest backed by steep, snow capped peaks provide the setting for superb revelry and good living. That is what sets Bio Bio Patagonia’s excursions apart.
